Installation requirements
Fire hose reels should be installed in densely populated public buildings, buildings with a building height greater than 100m, and commercial service outlets with a building area greater than 200㎡.
Fire hose reels directly connected to the indoor water supply system should be installed in elderly care facilities, and the installation spacing should not be greater than 30.0m.
In some places such as Class D and Class E factories or warehouses with lower fire resistance levels and smaller volumes, indoor fire hydrant systems may not be installed, but fire hose reels should be installed.
The working principle of the fire hose
The fire hose is usually connected to the fire water supply network in the building. When a fire occurs, the user opens the valve on the hose, and the pressure water in the fire water supply network will flow into the hose of the hose.
Since the water in the network is stored under a certain pressure, after the valve is opened, the pressure water quickly flows to the spray gun through the hose under pressure. The design of the spray gun can control the spray direction and shape of the water flow. By adjusting the spray gun, the user can adjust the water flow to different spray modes such as atomization and direct current to adapt to different types of fire scenes.
For example, for solid material fires, the direct current spray mode can be used to concentrate the impact of the water flow to extinguish the fire; for flammable liquid fires, the atomization spray mode can be used to expand the coverage area and reduce the temperature of the burning material.
In short, the fire hose controls the on and off of the water flow through the valve, and uses the pressure of the water supply network to deliver water to the spray gun to achieve the purpose of rapid fire extinguishing.
