Installation Method

Preparation before installation

Check the appearance to ensure there is no obvious damage, deformation or scratches, and the chrome coating is intact. The threads should be free from damage or slippage.
Confirm that the installation environment meets the requirements, away from fire sources, heat sources and corrosive substances, and keep the installation position dry and well-ventilated.
Prepare suitable installation tools, such as wrenches, etc. The tools should be clean and free of oil stains to avoid contaminating the valve.

Specific installation steps

Wipe the inlet and outlet threads and the connecting equipment interface with a clean cloth to ensure there are no impurities or oil stains.
Align the inlet end with the corresponding PZ27.8 interface of the gas cylinder or gas source equipment in the correct direction, slowly rotate and initially screw in 3-5 threads to check if it is smooth. If there is any jamming, withdraw for inspection to avoid damaging the threads by forceful installation.
Gently tighten the inlet end connection with a wrench, pay attention to moderate force to ensure no leakage of the seal, and do not apply excessive force to avoid damaging the threads.
Install the outlet end in the same way, connect the CGA320 thread outlet with the corresponding equipment interface and tighten.
After installation, conduct a simple air tightness check. Apply soap water to the interface and observe if any bubbles are produced. If there are bubbles, re-tighten.

Maintenance Methods

Daily Maintenance:

  1. Regularly inspect the surface. If there is dust, oil stains, etc., wipe it clean with a clean cloth to keep the surface clean.
  2. Observe whether there are any abnormal leaks, abnormal sounds or operational difficulties during the use. If any problems are found, deal with them promptly.
  3. Avoid frequent opening and closing to reduce unnecessary wear and extend the service life.

Regular Maintenance:

  1. Every six months to one year, based on the usage frequency and environmental conditions, conduct a comprehensive inspection. When disassembling, first close the gas source to release the pressure in the pipeline to ensure safety.
  2. Check the wear condition of the threads. If there is slight wear, you can appropriately apply the specific thread sealant for maintenance; if the wear is severe, replace in time.
  3. For valves with safety valves, regularly check the flexibility and accuracy of the safety valve. You can have professionals perform calibration to ensure that it can open and close normally within the set pressure range.
  4. Check the internal seals. If any aging or damage is found, replace the seals that meet the specifications in time to ensure the sealing performance.

FAQ

I. Usage Related

Question:During usage, if there is an unstable gas flow situation, what could be the possible causes?
Answer: There could be multiple reasons for this. Firstly, check if is clogged. Since there may be impurities in the gas, it may get clogged in the DN4mm diameter over a long period of use, causing unstable flow. At this point, it is necessary to clean according to the maintenance method. Secondly, check if the threaded connection is loose. If the inlet or outlet threaded connection is not tight, it will cause gas leakage, thereby affecting the flow. Re-tighten the threads and conduct a gas tightness check. Additionally, if the ambient temperature changes drastically, it may also affect the gas flow. Ensure that operates in an appropriate temperature environment.

Question: This valve is suitable for oxygen. Are there any special matters to note when using it?
Answer: Since oxygen is a supporting gas, special attention must be paid during use. It is strictly prohibited to come into contact with grease, as grease is prone to combustion or even explosion in an oxygen environment. Tools used during installation and maintenance must be thoroughly cleaned of oil. At the same time, avoid performing open flame operations near to ensure a well-ventilated environment, to prevent excessive oxygen concentration from causing danger.

II. Performance Related

Question: Does 15MPA working pressure refer to the maximum pressure that the valve can withstand?
Answer: No. 15MPA working pressure refers to the design pressure when is operating normally. Within this pressure range, can operate stably and reliably. For valves equipped with a 30-33MPA safety valve, the safety valve opening pressure is the protection value to prevent overpressure. When the pressure exceeds the working pressure but does not reach the safety valve opening pressure, can still operate, but it is not recommended to use it for a long time under an overworking pressure condition to avoid affecting the service life and safety.

Question: Will the brass chrome-plated valve experience corrosion after long-term use?
Answer: Brass itself has good corrosion resistance, and the chrome plating process further enhances its anti-corrosion ability. Under normal circumstances, when used in an applicable gas environment and installation environment, it is unlikely to experience corrosion. However, if there are a large amount of strong corrosive substances in the environment or the gas contains impurities causing damage to the valve surface, corrosion may occur. Therefore, ensure that the installation environment meets the requirements and perform regular maintenance to keep surface clean.

III. Installation and Maintenance Related

Question: When tightening the threads with a wrench during installation, how to determine the appropriate force?
Answer: During installation, the force applied to tighten the threads should ensure no leakage of the seal. Generally, when feeling significant resistance, gently turn the wrench by 1/4 turn or so. Excessive force may damage the threads, while insufficient force may lead to leakage. After installation, you can check by applying soap water. If no bubbles appear, it indicates the force is appropriate. If you lack experience, you can refer to the installation force of similar valves or consult a professional installer.

Question: When performing regular maintenance, what should be noted when replacing the sealing element?
Answer: When replacing the sealing element, first ensure that the selected sealing element is of the appropriate specification. Different materials and sizes of sealing elements may not guarantee the sealing effect. Secondly, before replacement, close the gas source to release the pressure in the pipeline to ensure safety. Be careful when disassembling to avoid damaging other components. When installing the new sealing element, ensure its correct position without distortion. After installation, conduct a gas tightness check to ensure a good seal.

IV. Selection Related

Question: How to choose between a valve with a safety valve and one without?
Answer: When choosing, mainly consider the pressure stability of the system and safety requirements. If the system pressure is very stable and there are complete external pressure monitoring and control equipment, a valve without a safety valve can be selected to reduce costs. If there may be fluctuations in system pressure, there is a risk of overpressure, or if the external pressure control equipment is not perfect, to ensure safety, it is recommended to choose a configuration with a 30-33MPA safety valve to obtain dual safety guarantees.

Question: The inlet and outlet threads of this valve are fixed. So, if my equipment interface is different, can it be used?
Answer: Since the inlet thread of this valve is PZ27.8 and the outlet thread is CGA320, they are fixed specifications. If your equipment interface does not match these two threads, direct use may not achieve a tight connection, leading to gas leakage and other problems. In this case, it is not recommended to use directly. You can consider using the corresponding thread conversion adapter, but the conversion adapter must comply with safety standards, and after installation, a strict air tightness check must be conducted to ensure safety.
